Current Project: Asylum Seekers Natalie has made her new bedroom her own! After one month at Le Pont, she and her parents have just moved into a 4 ½ just a few blocks away.

Current Project: Asylum Seekers After one month at the Pont, this family of five are moving into an apartment of their own. The dad is particularly happy as this means he can now enrol his daughters in school.

Aneysi

Current Project: Asylum Seekers Aneysi, a social work intern at Le Pont, explains the importance of properly filling in and signing a lease. Asylum seekers are often victims of fraud, abuse and discrimination when they are searching for, or when they rent an apartment.

Aurelia

Current Project: Asylum Seekers Aurelia spends several hours each day searching for an apartment on the Internet. Credit checks, high prices, scarcity of apartments, not accepting children, discrimination towards asylum seekers … so many discouraging obstacles!

Regina

Current Project: Asylum Seekers Regina (right), program assistant, now lives full-time at Le Pont and offers support and encouragement to residents. After the fleeing, the threats and the insecurity, Le Pont offers a place where one can share, laugh, make friends and take the first steps toward establishing oneself in Montréal.

Matias

Current Project: Asylum Seekers 4 year-old Matias, is trying to reach the kitchen cupboard reserved for his family. Each room has a space in the fridges and cupboards to keep the food that they have bought or have been able to get from a food bank.

Victorine

Current Project: Asylum Seekers Victorine sits patiently while her mother prepares breakfast and her father takes care of her month old little brother. Once the family has moved into an apartment, one of the parents will not be able to take on a job, as asylum-seekers do not have access to subsidized daycares.
